What does a home inspection include?A standard home inspection from HammerHead includes a thorough visual review of the following components: Roofs Exterior Structure Electrical Heating Ventilation Air conditioning / heat pumps Plumbing Interior The goal is to provide you with a comprehensive overview of the condition of the property, including potential issues and safety concerns.

Do you inspect strata properties or complexes?Yes, we offer inspections for strata units. In addition to the typical home inspection, we will also visually inspect other select units in the complex from the exterior. While it is not an industry standard to review other units, we believe in providing as much useful information as possible, as problems with other units could impact the costs for the buyer.

What qualifications and experience do you have?HammerHead Inspection Services is led by Nik Tanaka, who brings extensive experience and education in engineering, construction, and home inspection. With over 1,000 inspections under his belt, Nik’s background includes work as a building envelope consultant, house designer, and inspector since 2002. HammerHead is also registered with Consumer Protection BC and fully insured.

Do you provide engineering reports or other documentation?Yes, we offer additional documentation for building envelope inspections, including engineering reports, assessments, depreciation reports, and condition assessments for insurance purposes. How quickly will I receive my inspection report?You will receive a detailed written report within 24 hours after the inspection (or 48 hours for extensive inspections). The report includes descriptions and photos of any major concerns, repairs, or safety issues, customized specifically for your home.

What if I can’t be present during the inspection?If you’re unable to attend the inspection, we can provide a verbal summary over the phone. You’ll still receive the complete written report within 24 to 48 hours.
